One hundred dollars reward will be paid by Dr. Hayes, Bourbon street, New Orleans, for the apprehension of his two slaves, William and Louis, runaways, or fifty dollars for either. William, or Bill Marchand, used to sell crockery ware, and was formerly owned by Madam Tremolee; he is five feet high, of regular features, nose slightly arched; generally wears a goatee and moustaches; has a quick, peculiar walk, throwing the weight of his body on his toes, which he inclines inwards, as if bow-legged.
Louis is more Indian than Negro; mulatto color; aged forty or fifty years; fifve feet one or two inches high (formerly owned by Captain Sireck;) wears long black hair parted in the centre, and has little or no beard. This slave much resembles an Indian, and in his general appearance and manner resembles a woman as much as a man, constituting a singular and unique cast, which seldom fails to create a surprise, and to suggest the idea of a hermaphrodite. The expression of his eyes is defiant and menacing, contrasting remarkably with a slight voluptuous smile, as if deeply pleased, which he assumes, when spoken to, at the same time crossing his forearms on his chest, and inclining from side to side.
One hundred dollars extra, or fifty for either, for such information as will secure criminally and civilly the maximum penalty of the law, on whomsoever harbors or abets them.
