Parents of BENJAMIN were Spanish Indians who rem. from Massachusetts to New London prior to 1750. His father d. before 1750; his mother res. In New London until she d. after 1770. Benjamin was indentured to a Mrs. Short in New London but was released from service before he reached ae. 21. (N.L. Co. Sup. Ct., Oct. 1823). Benjamin m. a woman from Groton named Dinah. (Ibid.). However, his m. in the New London Vital Records reads "Benjamin Oterbridge m. Phyllis Short 9 June 1762."
